No. SONIQ POS runs in the browser on an iPad, Android tablet or PC. Add a card reader and a receipt printer if your counter needs them.
Yes. You can run just the till, just the online shop, or both. If you want a website, SONIQ can build one with the shop already inside.
Card payments need a connection, and the till will never show a card payment as approved unless the card network has actually approved it. Printers queue jobs and catch up when they reconnect.
Yes. Record the 14 allergens, “may contain” warnings and ingredients for each product and extra, with the date you last checked them. Staff see them on the till, customers see them online, and allergy orders print a banner on the kitchen ticket. You stay responsible for keeping the information accurate.
Yes — VAT rates per product, inclusive or exclusive pricing, VAT on delivery charged in proportion to the goods, and end-of-day takings broken down by VAT rate.
Card payments are processed by Stripe and paid out to your own business bank account. Cash is recorded against the till shift so your cash-up balances.
Counter-service, hospitality and retail: pubs and bars, cafés, bakeries, takeaways, independent shops, florists, salons and trade counters. Full-service restaurants get tables, courses, kitchen screens, reservations and split bills too — see SONIQ Pay for restaurants.
No. Your SONIQ team can sign in with their own login, and you can add till-only staff with just a name and a PIN. Managers approve refunds, large discounts and no-sales.
Yes. SONIQ Pay sits on the same platform as SONIQ phones, CRM and bookings, so your customers, orders and calls live in one place.
A genuinely discretionary service charge is outside the scope of VAT, so SONIQ shows it on its own line with no VAT and reports it separately on your Z-report. You can switch it off per bill or only apply it to larger tables. Record how tips and service charge are shared with your team so you can show you follow the tipping law.
Food and drink eaten on your premises is standard-rated at 20%. The till knows a table sale is eat-in, so you don’t have to think about it — and takeaway sales still get the right zero or standard rate per item.
Yes. Send the order and drinks go to the bar while starters go to the kitchen; mains are held. Fire them from the table, or the server gets a “fire mains” task a few minutes after starters are cleared.
Bookings come from a widget on your SONIQ website, your phone line and the AI receptionist, all into the same diary. Turn times are set by party size and cover pacing stops twenty people arriving at 7:30.
Printers queue tickets and catch up when they reconnect, and the floor refreshes as soon as the connection is back. Card payments need a connection and are never shown as approved unless the card network approved them.
Any modern browser: iPad, Android tablet, PC or a big screen on the pass. The kitchen screen runs on a cheap tablet or a TV with a stick PC.
Book a 20-minute demo and we'll ring through a real sale on a SONIQ till — card, cash, receipt and stock — in front of you.
