Tables, courses, kitchen screens, reservations, waitlists, split bills and stock — on the same SONIQ till and card payments. Everything below is a working demo. Go ahead and run a service.
This is Harbour Kitchen at 7:20pm. Tap a table to seat a walk-in, add food by seat, send the order, fire mains and take payment. The kitchen screen below and each server’s task list update as you go. Leave autopilot on to watch the team and the kitchen keep working.
Each party gets its own session: covers, booking, server, orders, courses and payment. When they pay, the table resets and the visit stays on the guest’s record.
Greet within 3 minutes, order by 10, check back 3 minutes after mains land, offer desserts at 20. Tasks come from what actually happened, and you set the times.
Host stand, waiter tablets, the till and the pass all show the same live floor. Changes are checked on the server first, then pushed to every device in real time.
Send an order once and SONIQ routes it: drinks to the bar printer, starters to the kitchen screen, mains held until you fire them. The pass bumps a dish and the right server gets a task to run it.
Mains wait until starters are cleared. Fire from the table, or the server is prompted.
Kitchen and bar tickets print on Star CloudPRNT printers — no PC in the back.
Flag an allergy on any item and the ticket prints a red ALLERGY banner.
Tickets turn amber, then red, when they run past their target time.
Book a table as a guest on the left — it drops straight into the staff diary on the right. Then drag bookings between tables and times. Greyed-out times are full or over the cover-pacing limit, and SONIQ won’t let you double-book or squeeze six onto a two-top.
Your SONIQ phone line can answer with an AI receptionist that books, moves and cancels tables in the same diary, answers menu and allergen questions, and hands over to a person when it should. Press play to listen in.

Add walk-ins with a realistic quote, then text them when their table is ready. Tap “Text: table ready” and watch the phone.
Quotes come from real table timings — how long each party has been seated against its turn time — not a guess.
Equally, by item, or a shared bottle across everyone — with the discretionary service charge shown separately. Each guest pays their part by card and the table closes itself when it’s settled.
Recipes take ingredients off stock as you sell. You see the cost and gross profit of every dish, and when an ingredient runs out the dish comes off the till, the website and the QR menu automatically. Sell burgers until the buns run out.
Use the editor in the live demo — Edit layout to drag and join tables, Sections to give each server their tables. Coming next: scan the room with an iPhone and let SONIQ draw it for you.
Walk the room with a LiDAR iPhone or iPad. SONIQ finds the tables, numbers them and counts the chairs — then you check it and drag anything it missed. The editor you see in the live floor above works today, on any screen.
Your server takes the order on it, then taps Hand to guests. The tablet locks to that table: the family orders more, plays games, calls the waiter and asks for the bill — and only a staff PIN gets back to the floor.
Tap Staff and enter 1234. Open Table 12, add a Flat White (pick a size) and Send.
Tap “Hand to guests”. Order more, open Kids mode, call a waiter, or split the bill and pay by QR.
Enter 1234 again — the guest requests are waiting on the floor, and on Sophie’s list above.
Use the tablets and screens you have, or add what the floor and the pass need.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ in a wipe-clean case with a stand, or the rugged, water-resistant Galaxy Tab Active5. Runs the SONIQ Tablet app, locked to your restaurant.
Stripe S700, or S710 with 4G. The server brings it over, splits the bill on the tablet and takes each share.
Any Android tablet, or a TV on the pass with a small PC. Runs the SONIQ kitchen screen in a browser.
Star CloudPRNT printers such as mC-Print3 and TSP143IV — food to the kitchen, drinks to the bar, bills at the front.
Tablets enrol with Android Enterprise or Samsung Knox, or pair with a 6-digit code. The fleet board in SONIQ shows every tablet’s table, mode and battery.
What’s live today and what’s coming next. No separate booking system, kitchen system and card machine that don’t talk to each other.
A genuinely discretionary service charge is outside the scope of VAT, so SONIQ shows it on its own line with no VAT and reports it separately on your Z-report. You can switch it off per bill or only apply it to larger tables. Record how tips and service charge are shared with your team so you can show you follow the tipping law.
Food and drink eaten on your premises is standard-rated at 20%. The till knows a table sale is eat-in, so you don’t have to think about it — and takeaway sales still get the right zero or standard rate per item.
Yes. Send the order and drinks go to the bar while starters go to the kitchen; mains are held. Fire them from the table, or the server gets a “fire mains” task a few minutes after starters are cleared.
Bookings come from a widget on your SONIQ website, your phone line and the AI receptionist, all into the same diary. Turn times are set by party size and cover pacing stops twenty people arriving at 7:30.
Printers queue tickets and catch up when they reconnect, and the floor refreshes as soon as the connection is back. Card payments need a connection and are never shown as approved unless the card network approved them.
Any modern browser: iPad, Android tablet, PC or a big screen on the pass. The kitchen screen runs on a cheap tablet or a TV with a stick PC.
Book a demo and we’ll set up your floor plan with you, fire a few tickets to a real kitchen printer and split a bill on a card reader.
