One tablet with two modes. Your server uses it to take orders, then locks it to the table for the guests: drinks, kids games, call a waiter, private feedback and pay — all part of the same table session.
Your server takes the order on it, then taps Hand to guests. The tablet locks to that table: the family orders more, plays games, calls the waiter and asks for the bill — and only a staff PIN gets back to the floor.
Tap Staff and enter 1234. Open Table 12, add a Flat White (pick a size) and Send.
Tap “Hand to guests”. Order more, open Kids mode, call a waiter, or split the bill and pay by QR.
Enter 1234 again — the guest requests are waiting as tasks. Take payment to close the table.
Pizza Pals and Scoop Stack, plus hand-picked official cartoons — no adverts, no web browser, no chat and nothing about the child saved.
The live menu with photos, sizes and allergens. Orders go straight to the bar and kitchen and onto the table’s bill.
Water, cutlery, a high chair or help — it lands in the right server’s task list.
Split it equally and each person scans a QR to pay their share on their own phone — or ask for the card reader.
An unhappy guest creates a priority task for the manager while they’re still there, not a public review later.
Optional: a texted receipt and rewards. Marketing is a separate, unticked box — never bundled in.
Leaving a game never opens the till, another table or staff details. Only a staff PIN returns the tablet to staff mode, and when the table pays the session closes, the games reset and payment access ends.
Guest mode only ever shows that table’s menu, order and bill.
Refunds, discounts and voids still need a manager on the till — a PIN on the tablet can’t do them.
Resetting a tablet only ends the guest session; the table and its order stay on the floor.
Game activity isn’t stored or used for marketing, in line with the ICO Children’s code.

Tablets enrol with Android Enterprise or Samsung Knox, or pair with a 6-digit code. The fleet board in SONIQ shows every tablet’s table, mode and battery.
